Frequently Asked Questions

Registrations

  • When can I register for the Convention?
  • You can register now. Just go to our Registration page and download a registration form, or you can contact our Registrations Officer Jan Stephens who will email you a form.
  • How much does it cost?
  • The cost depends on when you register. Please download the registration form from our Registration page to see the details.
  • Do I get a discount if I pay before a certain date?
  • Yes. We have 2 levels of early bird discounts. You will get the best price if you pay by 31st July 2014. You will also get a discount if you pay between 1st August 2014 and 31st December 2014.
  • Can I buy a ticket for just one session or one day?
  • No. Each ticket covers all 5 days of the Convention. This is the only way National Conventions can plan their budgets to cover costs of venue, staging and sound equipment necessary for such a large event.....

Stall Holders

  • What is the cost of a stall?
  • The cost is $25 which includes the supply of one trestle table. Additional trestle tables may be pre-ordered at a cost of $15 each. Please note that registration and payment are required by 31st January 2015.
  • How big is a stall site?
  • When you register for a stall you just need to tell us how many tables you will be requiring and we will allocate space to you. We will be using a hall about the size of a basketball court for stalls.
  • Please note that the Convention Committee reserves the right to restrict the number of stalls and their size.
  • How do I register for a stall?
  • The registration form contains a section for Stall Holders. Please fill it in and send it with your payment to our mailing address.
  • When does the Convention start and end?
  • It starts on Thursday 2nd April 2015 and ends on Monday 6th April 2015.
  • How many dancers are you expecting at the Convention?
  • We are expecting in excess of 500 dancers.
  • Would the stalls be operating every day?  Or just a few?  And what times?
  • This depends on how much time you want to give to manning your stall.
  • To assist you in planning - the Convention runs the following sessions:
    ·  Thursday night – a “trail in” (introductory welcome) dance
    ·  Friday night – a main night
    ·  Saturday afternoon – slightly smaller interest dance sessions
    ·  Saturday night – THE main night, biggest crowd
    ·  Sunday afternoon - slightly smaller interest dance sessions
    ·  Sunday night – another main night
    ·  Monday afternoon - slightly smaller interest dance sessions
    ·  Monday night – the last session – still well supported but a small percentage start making their way home interstate
  • Will there be security measures in place so that we can leave our stall set up overnight?
  • When stall holders aren’t manning their stalls they usually just throw sheets over their goods. Signs stating operating hours are also useful.
  • At the end of each day, the entire complex is secured and we are arranging security guards for the main nights after the dancing is finished.
  • What else do I need to know?
  • After you have registered for your stall you can advertise it by emailing us some details of what you are selling, and we will publish it on this website. You can include a few photographs if you wish.
  • If you have any other questions, please Contact us.

Our Stall Holder Advertising page has been started. You can see it here.
