With the 2013 National Square Dancing Convention in Gosford looming less than a month away, preparations for the static display for our unmanned booth are nearly complete. We will have two large pull-up banners to showcase our theme of “Come to the Cabaret”. Between them will be a trestle table decorated in red and black. Two A3 size posters on stands will be arranged on top, along with flyers advertising our event in 2015 and handouts with accommodation options and sightseeing attractions in and around Adelaide. There will also be tourist brochures and, last but not least, fridge magnets which should continue to remind people of our National Convention to be held in Adelaide in two years time.
Negotiations concerning our preferred venue for the Convention are continuing and we anticipate they will be finalised very soon. Stand by for our official announcement!
We are tracking well with our project schedule so far and have organised bank accounts and a PO Box number. There’s a preliminary budget in place, we’ve sent our first report to the National Conventions Board, and we have drafted programme and meeting schedules which will be finalised over the coming months.
Our website www.adelaide2015.com should come online around the middle of April. So if you use the Internet you’ll be able to keep up-to-date with our preparations if you check it regularly.
