Things are ticking along nicely!
Our August committee meeting kicked off with another trip to The Gardens Recreation Centre in Parafield Gardens. This focussed our minds on the immense task of decorating the venue, which was discussed at length at the meeting. The required material has been found. All we need to do now is buy it!
We’ve just about completed the design of the Registration form which we anticipate will be available on the website to overseas dancers by late August. We’ve contacted lots of clubs and callers overseas to let them know of our 2015 Convention, and there will be advertisements in overseas Square Dance publications in the very near future. It would be great to have lots of international dancers here in Adelaide.
The Convention committee will be sporting two dressed sets at next year’s Canberra Convention, and we are working on the “handover” which will occur at the end of the 2014 Convention. The dressed sets and the handover will of course fit with our theme of “Come to the Cabaret”.
We’ll soon be approaching local and national companies regarding sponsorship. With an anticipated large contingent of interstate and overseas dancers this is an opportunity for tourism and hospitality companies to benefit from our Convention.
