Get in early. Now is the best time to register for next year’s convention if you haven’t done so already. The price goes up by $10 from the beginning of August.
The convention programme is currently under construction. We are in the process of refining it, and will be publishing a draft version on our website in the next month or so.
Did you see the committee’s polo tops in Canberra? They attracted a lot of attention and several dancers have asked us about purchasing one for themselves. You’ll find information on our website about how to go about this, together with a photo.
Would you like to help us by being a volunteer at next year’s convention? We’ve started to compile a list of people who could spare some time to be marshalls, and there will be a variety of other jobs that you could assist us with.
Do you live within easy reach of The Gardens Recreation Centre? Perhaps you’d like to billet a dancer or two. We’ve already had enquiries from a German couple and an interstate couple who would like to stay with local dancers.
We are still looking for stall holders to fill up our vendors’ hall. People who sell square dance related items or other interesting merchandise are welcome. If you have any leads, please let one of the committee know. You’ll recognise them by their red and black National Committee badges.
Our efforts to attract sponsorship are ongoing, and we are hoping to get enough sponsors to allow us to stage a truly memorable convention. Make sure you’re part of it!
